Planning students selected to attend the workshop 'Researching Latin American Cities' at Manchester University

As a consequence of their participation in the co-curricular project 'Brazil Urban Design Study (BUDS) in 2015 three students from the MPlan course at Brookes have been selected to attend the Postgraduate Workshop: Researching Latin American Cities. The students had to submit an abstract and a CV explaining why they thought the workshop would be beneficial for their research and career.

Whilst in Brazil Pablo Newberry conducted the individual research project 'The Favela: Lessons in Design'; Charlie Herd developed the research 'Brazil Urban Design: a cross cultural townscape study' and Christopher Howells focused on 'Doquinhas: informality in a waterside location'.

Their aim is to use the workshop for further developing their research experience in Brazil into their masters degree.

The workshop takes place o the 5th of November at the Centre for Latin American and Caribbean Studies and the Global Urban Research Centre at the University of Manchester. Professor Garreth Jones from LSE is the key speaker.
